Devlog 3 - Expert feedback

Use the following questions as a reference for your documentation. Feel free to edit the format.

What was the feedback you received today in terms of mechanics, gameplay, etc?

Because it's a board game it was fairly clear how to play the game. However there were a lot of elements that still were unclear. These include the symbols not being clear yet, house or arrow? dog or rocks? There also were some gameplay elements that we had not thought about as much, for example if you should bring back the elderly people to their home manually, or if you should start on the big green area or the small green circle in front of you. All feedback we noted during the session is this:

Green is not clear as the first step. Stacking is fun.

Cards eventually get used up.

Is "together" clear enough?

Dog icon is not clear.

How do the steps work? Do you have to land exactly?

The house icon is not clear.

Together with an elderly person? Encourage teamwork.

Initial on the house to mark it.

Back to the starting point.

Elderly people should be brought back step by step—they need to go home first, or they’ll get too tired.

What is the function of the dog? What do the separate dog tokens mean?

Do more with Beeld en geluid.

Why would they want to play this game? Think about the target audience.

What is the win condition? You actually want to make all the elderly happy together—a co-op element.

Or look to the future: as a young person, you could also end up like the elderly characters one day.

Players could be family members of the elderly.

After the expert session we also heard that our game was not that crafty, which we do wanna improve up on

What are your action points for the upcoming day?

We're gonna work on the biggest feedback points we heard from the expert and we're gonna make our prototype more crafty.
